1. Sir, yet another fantastic session continuing with Whitman’s Song of Myself.

   While talking about Whitman’s celebration of night, వేదాలలో రాత్రి సూక్తం, పృథ్వీ సూక్తాలను పరిచయం చేశారు!! మన రుషులు seem to have said it ALL!! 🙏🏽

   Your explanation about Saint John Perse’s ‘Amers’ (Sea Marks) being heavily influenced by Whitman’s 22nd sarga was very interesting insight, sir.
   “సముద్రం అఖనిత్రక (తవ్వడం అవసరం లేని), సతత ఖననశీల స్మశానం” is such a profound statement!

   Whitman says
   “యుగాలుగా నిరంతరాయంగా ప్రకటితమవుతున్న శబ్ద జాలం, దానిలో నాది ఒక ఆధునిక శబ్దం, సకల ప్రజా శబ్దం.” ప్రజాకవి అనొచ్చా?
   Your explanation of Ferdinand de Saussure’s theory especially how every word we speak has both a synchronic (present meaning) and diachronic (historical) meaning at the same time was a fascinating insight into language itself, sir. Something I had never known or even thought about.

   Whitman astonishes us by his expression:
   “ఈ నా చంకల్లో స్రవించే వాసన ప్రార్థన కన్నా గొప్పది”
   “ఈ శిరస్సు మందిరాల కన్నా పవిత్ర గ్రంథాల కన్నా సమస్త ఆరాధనా సంప్రదాయాల కన్నా మేలైనది”
   A powerful celebration of the body.

   You explained the difference between వాగ్ధాటి (rhetoric) and వాక్కు (poetry), and how a poet must constantly protect his poetry from his own వాగ్ధాటి and how Whitman himself struggles and tries to save his poetry from himself.

   The poem about listening was extraordinary, sir!!
   “ఇప్పుడింక వినడం తప్ప మరేదీ చెయ్యను, విన్నదాన్ని పాటలోకి వడగట్టకుంటాను.”

   His poems on seeing, listening, sound, touch, desire, celebrating the human body and discovering “నా కన్నా అన్యం కాని మరొక అస్తిత్వం” is అద్వైతం!!

   With every talk, you keep widening our horizon, sir!! 🙏🏽
